Group 352 was founded by Jeremy Lee in the fall of 2012. The idea was discussed with Chris Dunn, the band director at Bell High School, and also with Jermaine Reynolds, the band director at Newberry High School, in the middle of marching season. We talked about starting it the next year since there was no time to prepare for the upcoming indoor season. After the students found out they, along with the band directors, pushed for the drumline to start that fall for the 2012-2013 winter drumline season. After a lot of work and preparation, the very first Group 352 season was underway with our first practice on December 8, 2012.
The music selection consisted of Metric Lips, a bluegrass song converted to a percussion piece for mallets and then re-written again for a full indoor drumline. The second piece was Madagascar. With these song selections, we named the show "Shades of Red" for our very first season in FFCC Indoor Drumline. In our first season with FFCC, we received 6th place overall in the Scholastic AA division at State Championships in Daytona Beach. We were very proud of the group and we look forward to the future of Group 352.
